Flapjacks are loved by many and too often mistaken for a healthy snack. That’s probably due to the oats, although traditional flapjacks are anything but! The reason these ones are not so naughty is that they contain zero butter. They do still contain a cheeky helping of honey, chocolate and coconut oil, could be worst though aye? Rest assured, they taste just as good without all of that sugar and butter.
I’ve added almond nuts as they help to flatten your tummy and keep you fuller for longer. Macadamia nuts as they are packed with vitamin E, which can prevent premature ageing. These flapjacks are high in good fats so proceed with caution if you are on a low-calorie diet…

Not so naughty flapjacks
Set your oven to 180°C.
Add your nuts/seeds of choice, place in a mixing bowl. Add oats, melted coconut oil, honey and bananas.
Here’s the fun part! get your hands in and literally squish the mixture together until everything sticks and you’re able to mould together.
Lightly grease your baking tray with coconut oil then press the mixture into the tray until even. pop in the oven for about 25 minutes until the corners are golden brown. Remove from oven and leave to cool for about 1 hour.
Chocolate is optional! I melted 2 thin bars in the microwave then used a beaker to pour on evenly.
